Our Peninsula YAB
Addison
YAB President
Addison is an 12th-grade student. She has a passion for volunteer work that was sparked at the beginning of Covid, and she hasn't stopped volunteering since. This is her fourth year as a part of the Peninsula YAB, and her favorite YVCHR project that she has ever participated in is the Bunk Build Projects. She also loves to work with animals and plans to pursue a career in Veterinary Medicine.
Anje
Anje is a High School senior. She enjoys playing soccer, the beach, running, spending time with friends and family, and going to church. She hopes that one day her passion to help others will help her change the world. Some of her favorite YVC projects are the gardens or Warwick forest, kayaking to clean up trash at the Mariners lake, and serving at S.A.M.E.
Dorinda
Dorinda is a high school Junior. She enjoys participating in school clubs, and participating on the archery team. She loves to serve the community and help people in need with her friends alongside her. Her favorite projects consist of Canstructure and volunteering at the food bank.
Carys
Carys is a junior, and she enjoys baking with her friends, volleyball, and all things science. She attended a face painting event through YVC 3 years ago and has been a member since. Her favorite thing about YVC is how many different projects are involved to help the community. She is excited to help the YVC community grow and build on their service.
Lexi
Lexi is a High School junior. She enjoys playing lacrosse, reading, playing pickleball, the beach, spending time with friends and family, going to church, and playing field hockey. She has been volunteering with YVC since 6th grade. Lexi’s favorite YVC project is serving at S.A.M.E. (So all may eat).
Marlena
Marlena is a high school senior. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, but, most of all, playing with her two dogs, Dobby and Wiky. She’s very involved in her school community participating in debate, model UN, YVC, Key Club, Youth Adult Police Commissioners, and the announcements. She loves to dedicate her time to helping those in need and making her community better. Her favorite YVC projects are Canstructure and Service Through STEM.
Our Southside YAB
Evan
Evan is an 8th-grade student. He enjoys volleyball, volunteer work, and TTRPGs. One of his favorite projects was working with Sleep in Heavenly Peace. His favorite thing about YVC is being able see his improvements in his community!
Sarah
Sarah is a tenth grade student from Virginia Beach. She participates in Girl Scouts and is a member of her high school cross country and track teams. She is involved in many clubs at her school, her favorites being Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters Circle Club and Spanish Honor Society. In the community, she is a member of the Seahorse Junior Circle of the Virginia Beach City Union of the Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters. Her hobbies include biking, baking, and reading. Sarah has a heart for helping her community, with the most passion for the homeless, the Chesapeake Bay, and pediatric charities.
Sophia
Sophia is an 8th grade student. She likes playing football, surfing, and playing waterpolo. She first encountered her love for volunteering with TAG (Teen Advisory Group) with the Virginia Beach library, and then found her self in YVC. Her favorite projects with YVC is Lasagna love and bench building and Food Bank’s backpack program.
Zane
Zane is a high school senior. He enjoys soccer, water sports, snowboarding, and just hanging out. He loves to volunteer both in state and abroad. One of his favorite projects with YVC was working at the Foodbank, PORT, or kayaking on the Mariner’s lake. This past summer, he volunteered as a Youth Lead for our Summer of Service Program. He can't wait to help lead projects and work with the rest of the YVC community.
Jospephine
YAB Secretary
Josephine is a high school senior. She enjoys meeting new people, reading, playing tennis, and swimming. She is excited to help out those in need and looks forward to making a difference in the community with the rest of YVC!
Luke
Luke is a high school junior who enjoys international travel, watching movies, going to church, and all things related to the NBA. Some of his most memorable experiences with YVC have been working outdoors developing a sundial at Bluebird Gap Farm and creating school learning gardens. Outside of volunteering, he participates in basketball and track and field. He’s excited to help the community as part of the Youth Advisory Board and make so many more new connections throughout the region.
Alex
Alex is a high school freshman. Alex has been volunteering since 4th grade and has loved it ever since. He likes to play sports, write, and hang out with friends. He volunteers so that he can make a positive impact on the world around him. His favorite YVC project would either be the Mayflower food drive or helping out with a Challenger baseball game. He is excited to continue to make a difference through the YAB this year.
Reagan
Reagan is an 11th-grade student with a deep love for the outdoors, enjoying activities like skiing, hiking, and kayaking. He plays both piano and soccer, and his passion for service is notable. As a Christian, he dedicates his life to God, embracing a lifelong pursuit of goodness and decency. Reagan has valued his role as the media coordinator for YVC and is now excited to contribute as a member of YAB.

Bethany
Bethany is a high school junior and is serving her second year on YAB. In her free time she likes to go to the beach or watch movies. Serving her community is important because she loves showing kids her age that they can make a real difference in their own communities.
TJ
TJ is a high school 10th grader.
Gavin
Gavin is a high school senior with a passion for lacrosse, anything in the ocean, and all things tech. Among his favorite projects are the bed builds and participating in Lasagna Love. His favorite part of volunteering is seeing firsthand the impact his group has on the community. Gavin is eager to continue making an impact on real people's lives through the YAB this year.
Emma
YAB Vice President
Emma is a 11th grade student who enjoys baking, reading, swimming, and hanging out with friends. Her favorite thing about YVC is the variety of service projects available that are able to help so many different people across the community.
Fun Fact: Emma has played piano since she was six!!
Dillon
Dillon is a freshman in high school and has been volunteering for just about a year with YVC. His favorite volunteer site are Special Olympics Track and Field. Brooks plays basketball, track and field and cross country, and also enjoys hiking and traveling with his family.
Warisha
Warisha is a 12th grade student that enjoys painting, drawing and playing volleyball. She also loves volunteering and helping people in need. Her most memorable project was one where we served meals to people.
Andrea
Andrea is a high school senior. Her favorite YVC project was building beds with Sleep in Heavenly Peace. She has a passion for healthcare, so apart from YVC, she also volunteers at Riverside and CHKD. Outside of volunteering, she enjoys baking/cooking, making crafts, and watching a good show or movie. She's excited to serve on the YAB this year!
Bryce
International Youth Advisory Executive Board member
Bryce is a senior from Hampton Roads, Virginia. Bryce’s favorite and most rewarding project with YVC was helping the elderly by making bracelets and playing bingo with them. Outside of volunteering, he enjoys playing basketball, soccer, baseball, and swimming. In his free time, he often hangs out with friends, reads, or plays video games.
Logan
Logan is an 8th grader and has served over 75 hours in his two years with YVC. His favorite projects with YVC were bed and bench builds. He is also active in Scouting America and has earned his Life Scout rank. In his free time, he enjoys playing basketball and the saxophone as well as traveling.
Ben
Ben is sophomore
Sadie
Sadie is a high school sophomore. She likes to participate in many school sports like gymnastics, dive and lacrosse. Her favorite YVC project she participated in was the Special Olympics Speed Skating. It made the most impact on her because she loves to see people practicing and doing a sport that makes them happy.
Olivia
Olivia is a sophomore and is involved in sailing club and enjoys spending time with friends and family. She has been volunteering with YVC for three years. Her favorite projects have included Lasagna Love, Peer Buddies and beach clean-ups. She is excited to be a part of the Youth Advisory Board for her second year.
